INGREDIENTS:

2 cups peeled, chopped green apples
-
1/4 cup granulated sugar
-
2 tbsp cornstarch
-
1 tsp apple pie spice blend(cinnamon + nutmeg)
-
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
-
1/2 cup granulated sugar
-
1/2 tsp baking powder
-
1/4 tsp salt
-
1/2 stick butter (at room temperature)
-
1 large egg
-
1tsp vanilla/strawberry extract
INSTRUCTIONS:
​
1. Preheat oven to 350F
2. In a bowl add the chopped apples, granulated sugar, apple spice blend, vanilla or strawberry extract and corn starch. Mix well.
​
3. Add the remaining ingredients and thoroughly combine until a batter-like texture is formed.
​
4. Pour half the batter into an 8*8 baking pan then add in the apple mixture and the remaining batter on top.
​
5. Bake it for 35-40 min and allow it to cool for up to 15 minutes before serving.
