Baked Spinach and Cheese

INGREDIENTS:

24ozFrozen Spinach (thawed)

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

2 tbsp Butter

2tbspOnion

4tsp minced garlic

2tsp Dried parsley

2tsp Oregano

Salt and pepper

Nutmeg(optional)

4 -8 tbsp Cream cheese(optional)

1- 1 1/2 cups Heavy whipping cream

Grated parmesan 

Fresh/Shredded mozzarella 

Shredded cheddar

 

INSTRUCTION

**The quantity of each ingredient can be adjusted and eye-balled according to each person's personal preferences. 

  1. Add butter garlic and onion. Fry it till it becomes very light golden brown.

  2. Add in 2tbsp of Flour and saute. This creates a thick texture.

  3.  Drain the thawed spinach. You don’t want it to be watery.

  4.  Add in the spinach and saute until spinach is soft. 

  5. Then add in some heavy cream and mix them together.

  6. Once your spinach and cream mixture starts boiling add in the salt(not too much), pepper, oregano and dried parsley seasonings. You can also add a pinch of nutmeg. 

  7. For a very thick and cream mixture, you can add in some cream cheese. 

  8. Finally, add in the grated parmesan cheese and mix everything until well combined.

  9. Pour in you spinach mixture to a baking bowl or skillet and top with cheese of your desire.

  10. Bake at 400 degrees F until cheese is golden brown or baked to your desired texture.
